The Somers boys lacrosse team celebrates after their 5-4 win over Granby on May 24th to win the 2018 NCCC boys lacrosse tournament! Congratulations to Coach Ken McCarthy on obtaining his 400th career victory vs. Avon!! The team also advanced to the Class S state championship game for the 3rd consecutive year.

Softball varsity coach Melanie Zamorski and baseball varsity coach Brian McCarthy present ALL NCCC plaques to Alexandria Gershowitz, Katryna Dukehart and Brady Coleman at the NCCC Softball and Baseball Playoff Championships at Memorial Park in Windsor Locks.

Our Somers varsity boys golf team (L to R: Vincent Mazza, Ethan Lessard, Dominic Manning, Michael Manning, Ryan Majowicz) is currently ranked 4th in CIAC DlV with a 10-2 record and is looking forward to the upcoming NCCC Championships and CIAC tournament play. UPDATE: Our  Somers goif team finishes 3rd at the NCCC Championships at Blackledge CC on May 31st, and moves on the DlV State Chamnpionships at Timberlin CC on June 4th!

Our Somers girl's track & field team celebrate their Small School 2nd place finish at the annual Journal Inquirer Invitational held at Manchester High School! Kylie Raymond finished 1st overall in the 1600 m and 3200 m (after also winning both events at the Greater Hartford Open). Other top performances include Olivia Suter (4th in 300 M hurdles), Lauren Eastwood (2nd in high jump), Broderick Rheault (1st in javelin and 3rd on discuss), and Spencer MacLeod (3rd in  triple jump and 7th in long jump).

The boys lacrosse team and coaching staff are presented banners at spring sports awards night for winning the NCCC and advancing to the Class S State finals!

Kylie Raymond finished 3rd in the 3200 m at the New England T&F Championhips held on June 9th at the University of New Hampshire! Kylie earned All New England Honors and has qualified for the New England Championships in each of this year's sports seasons (cross country, indoor track, and outdoor T&F)! Kylie also finished 13th at the T&F Nationals held in Greensboro, North Carolina!

Sophomore Jonathan Kelly competes for Enfield/Somers in the Class LL tennis state tourament at Hall High School. Jonathan's doubles team had a regular season record of 11-4.

The Somers girl's team finished 2nd to Canton in the finals, while the Somers boy's team defeated Granby in the championship game with Christopher Allen earning the Most Valuable Player award.

Somers track and field seniors enjoy a senior day celebration the day after the NCCC Championships! Congratulations to NCCC Champions Emily Renzoni (discuss), Broderick Rheault (discuss), and Kylie Raymond (3200 m)! In the CIAC Class S meet, Kylie Raymond won the 3200 m state championship after winning the 3200 m race, and with Broderick Rheault (javelin) qualified for the State Open.

Jeff Suschana accepts his 3rd place ribbon in the CIAC Open Championships with Coach Zachary and Coach Suschana. Jeff advanced to the New England Championships held in Providence (RI) on March 2nd.

Congrulations to Jeff Suschana for winning the CIAC Class S State Championship at 160 lbs! Both Jeff and Michael Dalessio (who finished 4th at 113 lbs.) qualified and competed in the CIAC Open Chanmpionships held in New Haven held on February 23rd.

The Somers girls basketball team celebrates after their last second win over East Granby and finished the regular season at 15-5 prior to the NCCC and Class S State tournaments.

SOMERS BOYS LACROSSE COACH KEN MCCARTHY CELEBRATES WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS DURING HIS INDUCTION CEREMONY INTO THE CONNECTICUT LACROSSE HALL OF FAME ON NOVEMBER 11TH! Congratulations to Coach McCarthy who joins the HoF Class of 2016 as he enters his 26th year of coaching lacrosse at Somers High School. Coach McCarthy has led the Spartans to 25 consecutive seasons of qualifying for the state tournament, with (7) state championship appearances and (5) state titles. Coach McCarthy's 404 career wins are 5th all time in Connecticut and 2nd among active coaches, and now includes (11) regular season league championships and (8) league tournament championships.

State champion Kylie Raymond finished 24th in the New England Cross Country Championships in Belfast, Maine, and earns ALL NEW ENGLAND HONORS!! After winning the 3200 meter NCCC Championship and finishing 3rd in both the Class S Indoor State Championships and State Open, Kylie Raymond advanced to the New England Championships held in Boston on March 3rd! Congratulations to Kylie!!
