Hi. My name is Jack and I am going to Alaska! I think it would be a useful and meaningful experience to go to Alaska because we will be studying conductive heat flow in Alaska's frozen lakes. As many of you may know, the temperature in Alaska has been significantly higher than the average. It is important to study this because we will be taking part in something meaningful for the people of our country because the melting in Alaska affects us as well. Millions of gallons of water are added to the ocean because of the glaciers melting. We will be studying with Martin Jeffries our mentor scientist. I also would like to see the Aurora because we learned about it in science class and I think it would be cool to see something in the real world beyond what we see on TV or in a textbook in the classroom. |
