Hi. My name is Quinn and I’m going to Alaska! I think that I’m going to be a great candidate for the Alaskan Research Challenge. I feel that carrying out Alaskan research during the International Polar Year would be useful and meaningful to my personal experience because I, along with my classmates, Ms. Porter, and several highly-knowledgeable scientists, may be able to help the environment. While in Alaska, we will be collecting many types of scientific data, such as measuring the heat flow through ice. This data will help us make predictions on a problem called global warming. The predictions will be on how it will affect the world in the future. I know that I will gain lots of knowledge and also have a lot of fun during this once in a life time experience.
